Islam and Muslim have indeed contributed much to the progress in this world, but that was history. Muslim have since regress in general and have been fascinated and trapped with rituals, forms over substance just like the middle age Christians. Muslim move backward while the rest have move forward. 9 out of the 10 bottom-ranking countries in the World Economic Forum’s report on women’s rights, are majority Muslim. These days groups like the Taliban shot Malala Yousafzai for advocating education for girls. People who champion human rights and religious tolerance are executed by the fundamentalist in Islamic country like Pakistan. Recently Malaysia banned the liberal Muslim Ulil Abshar Abdalla for intending to have a dialog on religious fundamentalism threat. The Muslim have to change and lead by example if they want to contribute to mankind again. I prefer to live for the future than taking glory of the past
