Islamabad, July 23: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter (APHC-AJK) held a peaceful sit-in outside the UN office in Islamabad to draw the World Body’s attention towards desecration of holy Quran and subsequent killings in Gool area of Ramban district in Kashmir. The protest was led by APHC-AJK Convener, Syed Yousuf Naseem. The Hurriyet leaders participating in the sit-in demanded action against the troops responsible for the gruesome acts. They demanded that the desecration and killings be investigated by the Amnesty International or the United Nations. They condemned restrictionsand curfew like situation in the occupied territory. A memorandum on behalf of the people of Kashmir addressed to the UN Secretary General was also submitted on the occasion. The memorandum urged the UN to hold plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmirwithout any further delay. It also urged India to hold an impartial and credible investigation into the Gool incidents and bring an end to systematic breach of human rights violations in Kashmir. Besides Syed Yousuf Naseem, the sit-in was also attended by Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Altaf Ahmed Wani, Abdul Majeed Malik, Nisar Mirza, Manzoor-ul-Haq Butt, Hassan Al-Bana, Mir Tahir Masood, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Altaf Ahmad Butt, Abdul Hameed Lone, Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Khadim Hussain, Daud Khan Yousufzai, Syed Abdullah Gilani and Abdul Mateen Saleem Haroon.
