Island Scanner Friday, May 9 At 3:55 p.m., a Lake Drive resident reported that a wet cat was under her porch. ( a wet cat, just be glad it isnt a mountain lion !) At 5:20 p.m., a Magnolia Lane resident reported that a man in a plaid shirt yelled at her. (Those Scots plaid shirts can make men do crazy things !) Saturday, May 10 At 5:02 p.m., a caller reported recovering money that dropped out of a car in the Northwest Alexander Street area. ( Honesty is still the best policy, nice to see it alive and well on Whidbey.) At 6:07 p.m., there was a report that alpaca-related signs were stolen. (Hmm alpaca related, does that mean a llama or vicuna stole the signs?) Sunday, May 11 At 1:31 p.m., a caller reported that his brown 1978 Jaguar was stolen. (assuming a car, not a cat?) At 7:01 p.m., a caller reported that a man was “mooning” him on Boe Road. ( Yes, there is to be a meteor shower, but didnt know about the full moon, that wasnt mentioned in the Science Daily article.) Monday, May 12 At 6:28 a.m., a woman reported that she is pregnant, a strange man assaulted her and that she was trying to get a dog that ran away on Honeymoon Bay Road. (Not sure where to begin, especially for a 6:28 AM 911 call.) At 9:42 a.m., a Roberts Road resident reported that five peacocks on his property were destroying plants. ( darn peacocks, a few days in the coop should rehab them) At 5:54 p.m., a Goldsmith Road resident reported that turkeys were walking across his property. (Ah ha, there is a fowl conspiracy afoot !!) Tuesday, May 13 At 8 p.m., an Amberwood Lane resident reported that a chicken was attacking his chickens. (See, what next more fowlness out and about ? Remember Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds?-be afraid, very afraid)
