Islands Network Mission Sharing and Prayer Requests March 2014 at The Green Pasture Jesus said: “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work and you have reaped the benefits of their labour.” John 4: 34-38 Thank God for His Grace! Please give thanks and remember in prayer. 1 Thank God for His Grace. Green Pasture Missionary Training Course for local missionaries would finally commence soon. 9 participants (mentor, students and co-workers) attended the first seminar held on 26/3/14. They were Crist (mentor) and his wife, Yusi. Students were Musa, Lina, Musun and Susanti. Co-workers were Yenyen, Syuku and Missionary Rev Tan. The topics discussed included the purpose and content of the Missionary Training Course, the life of serving and field work in Green Pasture, etc. We had decided to start the course on 31/3/14. Please remember Yusni, Aris and Marion in prayer as we had yet to hear from them. Please give thanks and remember in prayer. 2 Thank God for His Grace. The construction and renovation work for the extension in Green Pasture had started. (i) We had decided to convert the hall of the old pavilion into a reception area to receive guests. They can rest and have tea there. Work had started and it would cost about $6,500. (ii) We had decided to build two longhouses along the river. Each would measure 16.5m X 7.5m and housed 4 bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Each longhouse would cost $18,000. This would turn Green Pasture into an ideal campsite for church retreats. The planned usage of Green Pasture after the renovation would be as follows: (a) venue for prayer/ quiet time for missionaries, pastoral and cell group (b) venue for church retreat (c) to host visiting pastoral co-workers (d) venue for personal and family quiet time. Please give thanks and remember in prayer. 3 Thank God for His Grace. Missionaries who had visited Tanjung Pinang and Green Pasture had agreed to participate in Islands Network Ministry after they were made aware of the mission of Islands Network Ministry. (i) Kristo and other co-workers from Jakarta would come and discuss the co-operation on 17/4/14. (ii) Situmorong (72 years) from East Indonesia, representating YSI Shalom International had signed a Memorandum of Co-operation with Islands Network Society. They would send students to attend the training. Please pray that God would lead in all discussions and decision making. Please pray that Islands Network Ministry would be like fig trees that bear fruits. 4 Thank God for His Grace. Almost 80% of the durian trees in Green Pasture had blossomed. This was because it had not rained for the past 2 months. This is the best result that the Missionary had seen so far. We pray that we will have a good harvest. According to the farmer, too much rain will affect the harvest. Please give thanks and remember in prayer. 5 Thank God for His Grace. Since 15 February 2014, 24 hour electricity supply had been available in Green Pasture. So far, the supply had been functioning normally. This will greatly facilitate the future development of Green Pasture as a Missionary Training Centre. Please give thanks and remember in prayer. 6 Thank God for His Grace. A team from the TRBC Women Fellowship visited Tanjung Pinang Church and Green Pasture. This was their first visit in 16 years. Hope that more mission trips would be organized in future. 7 Thank God for His Grace. TSTBC and TRBC joint Mission trip will be held from 17/4/14 to 22/4/14. ( Please insert the tabulated mission trip programme.) 8 Thank God for His Grace. I am 70 years old and passed Moses’ standard of a lifetime (70 years in a lifetime). Thank God for giving me good health. My blood sugar/ pressure test results were good. If I can live to 80 years old, I will have another 3650 days to go. I must treasure everyday and treat each day as if it is the last day of my life. Please pray that each day I will lead a victorious life and keep the faith. I have started to count my days to remind myself to treasure every single day. Today is the 2/4/14 (Wednesday). From now to aged 80 years, I would have another 3632 days. Today may be the last day of my life. Please pray for me, that I will fight a good fight, finish the race and keep my faith! Thank you, Brothers and Sisters, for keeping the Island Network Ministry in your prayers.
