Israel is conducting itself lawfully in Gaza. The tragic deaths of Palestinians civilians are caused by Hamas, which directed civilians to stay in harms way, which provided no bomb shelters for civilians, only bunkers for their fighters. Israels right to defend itself isnt theoretical. While doing their best to avoid hurting civilians they have an obligation to take action to thwart rocket attacks as well as attacks via tunnels. The IDF are conducting themselves with great heroism and tenacity in the face of deadly resistance in Gaza as well as attacks on Israels population via the tunnels. The population is united in support of the government and the government itself now seems to be in agreement. Centrists as well as the right wingers in the cabinet agree now on the necessity to uproot Hamas from its governing role in Gaza.
