It Pains me to read the many ignorant, bigoted and extreme comments from former NYC Mayor Rudy Guiliani, NYPD PBA President Patrick Lynch and so many members of Law Enforcement on Face Book and in the News. Its as if, on the one hand, they are angry at the protestors and ANYONE who is protesting, while on the other hand calling for acts of violence and dismissal of Politicians like NYC Mayor DiBlasio, US AG Eric Holder, and President Barack Obama. Dont they realize that they are just confirming widespresad beliefs about Police that are held by some who are engaged in the Protests? Yes, There are SOME Extreme Elements of Hatred within the ranks of those who have taken to the streets and there are disturbing comments and sentiments that have been published on FB and social media, however, an OVERWHELMING number of The Protestors are American Citizens who believe that, as the Preamble to The Constitution states, they are attempting to Form a More PERFECT Union Why such violent a response to that? There would be NO American Constitution WITHOUT Protest, so, to my fellow, MOS, please remember, the next time that you want to rant, curse and label people who are exercising their rights as US Citizens, that YOU are helping to fan the flames of division and hatred that you are accusing others of doing. Perhaps its merely time for BOTH sides to listen to each other WITHOUT Prejudice.
