It amazes me how folks have their own perception of what Jesus - TopicsExpress

It amazes me how folks have their own perception of what Jesus looked like. He has been portrayed as white in America. I have seen him portrayed as black in America. Yet, what would be the color of his skin when he walked this earth? Folks, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to discern that Jesus most likely would look very much as the Jews today. Upon reading scripture, we learn that the Jews believed in only marriages within their race. At times individuals were accepted, but all in all their bloodline has remained far more pure then all other nations on the face of the earth. Todays Jews still desire to keep within the bloodlines of the Jewish nation, but they are not as strict as they once were as we have seen many Jews marry outside of their race. Yet, the point remains that Jesus would look very much like the Jews of today with a dark olive skin and most likely darker hair and brown eyes. My point in all of this is not what Jesus looks like. My point is how everyone has their own perception of how they envision Jesus. Whats sad is there are just as many different perceptions of how Jesus looked physically as there are different gospels. Most of those professing to be Christians have created a Jesus who suits not only their image of his physical appearance, but more importantly a vision of his spiritual person. In other words they create a god they would follow while ignoring the God of Creation, the God of the bible. Have you created your own god? How would you know? If you have added or taken from Gods Word, you have created your own god, your own gospel.
