It amazes me that,Nigerian politicians,to a large extent, still see politics as a do or die affair, such that moral dictates and respect for the rule of law,are regarded as the philosophy of the weak. Soon,Nigeria will celebrate her 54th independence come october 1st,2014 and by next year,2015,all the political gladiators will be filing out to contest for the various seats of power. This has been a great concern to me and others Nigerians, either at home or in the diaspora. The reason for this feeling,is premised on the fact that our politicians, believe that power gotten through legal means,is meaningless and almost impossible to make them achieve their political ambitions. One major concern that keeps prodding the mind of concerned citizens of this great country,is the fact that, our burgeoning youths-the future leaders, are recruits in the company of these power starved politicians, who care less about the well being of the youths. These youths are brain washed by these wicked minded people to steal ballot boxes, and if possible cause an ugly scene in the cause of attaining their selfish interest. In most cases, these youths lost their lives as martyrs, but they are never immortalized by their pay masters. What a shame? Another worrisome dimension to this ugly political trend,is that the federal government has imposed a curfew during elections,so as to curtail any intended political brouhaha.A good example of such nasty experience, was the case of the just concluded election held in suleja,Niger state,to fill in the vacant seat of Niger east senatorial district. The soldiers created a no-go area for residents within suleja,as there were traffic gridlocks at all the major entry points into suleja, thereby making life almost miserable for everyone. We are at the receiving end of all these unpalatable regulations.I call on all youths of this great country,to defend the very sacred creed of this country and refuse to be puppets in the hands of these political merchants of evil.Remember, credible elections are guaranteed by one man one vote. God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.Good people, great nation.
