It amazes me that in our business so many people see leadership as ownership or as positional! Years ago when I started this business PK Kevin Smith said everyone is a leader no matter where they are in the journey I saw that as uplifting. I didnt need to be earning a certain amount, achieving a certain level of awards or ranks and I didnt have to dictate to others to be a leader. I simply had to be myself, offer guidance and support, respect others in their choices and their journey without judging them or ever making them feel bad for where they are, and simply give time to those that asks for assistance! Influencing others is what leaders do, I personally want to positively influence others. The day I squash someone or their dreams, is the day I will need to step back and remind myself of what true leadership is. My hope to everyone reading this is that you will step into your leadership, lead while you remain yourself, be transparent, not perfect. Respect others the way you want to receive respect. Be approachable, without promising the world, and most of all, dont be anyones boss! That is not true leadership, positional leaders are very different, many bosses in corporations are not respected. Dont be confused or you may just lose those that matter most.
