It appears that a spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church - TopicsExpress

It appears that a spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church released a statement asking the public to show Fred Phelps some respect and to allow his family and followers (who are largely his family) to mourn his passing in peace. They are asking the public not to picket/protest his funeral, that he and his loved ones that he left behind should be able to grieve in peace. Really? bwahahahaha However, it has been reported that the press statement was not made by anyone from the church but instead, was a satire written and published by (a cannot remember the name of the paper) the media. Either way I think it is hilarious. And if the statement was merely satire the best part is that that is probably EXACTLY how Fred Phelps family and followers feel. I, personally feel that to go and protest Fred Phelps funeral only brings us down to his level. Although, in truth, it would be well deserved. I think a better way to handle his passing is to celebrate. Which everyone is. There are the battles we fight, winning some, losing some, then there is the war...... Humanity 1:Fred Phelps 0
