It can be said that the period that a person has the least responsibility and the most free time is the period of youth. After that period, having a family, business life and social relations will deprive us from free time. Therefore, it is necessary to use the free time during the youth period very well. What we mean by free time is the time that is not used regularly and based on a program. In fact, there is no such thing as free time. A person fills his free time by doing something even if it fills it by sleeping. The Prophet (pbuh) stated that people were unaware of two valuable things: health and free time. Therefore, we should appreciate our free time before we lack time. How can we make best use of our free time? The first thing that comes to the mind is to read books. Its importance was mentioned in the chapter related to learning knowledge. It is also important to be involved in a branch of art. For instance, we can learn a branch of art like calligraphy, illumination and marbling. In addition, if we have music lessons, join a choir, to learn to play an instrument, we will use our time well and relax. It is important to take up a sport or to learn to drive if it is possible. It will help us to improve ourselves and to catch up with the world if we take up a computer course or a new language. We may not have enough time to do them all; we may not be willing to do some of them. However if learn one or some of them, we will obtain a skill, know some new people and make new friends. They say he has ten skills in his ten fingers for some people. It is not easy to obtain those skills. The activities we have in order to make use of free time during youth will make us acquire a second profession. We cannot know what will happen in the future.
