It didnt have to be this way. I love to hate this town, because there is a spirit here that intrigues me. It was built on Charleston & Manette. Populated by displaced Skid Row residents, who were removed by Seattle authorities(Klondike Gold Rush miners were supplied by Seattle merchants. Only after dismantling Americas worse neighborhood, did Seattle secure 70% of the booms revenue) Bremerton had more brothels, & bars than all of Seattle, @ one time, down Pacific Ave to Evergreen Park, ALONE`. The area was obviously Gangstered into the City of Bremerton, by the mysterious & extremely racist, Bremer family. They sabotaged their own hot commodities, making business leases Downtown too high to stop the Safeco financed Kitsap Mall project. Their intention was to discourage potential minority interests. Bremerton was a hotbed for White Supremacy groups, & lodged many hatemonger fueled, Heritage driven social groups(Oddfellows, KKK, American Nazi Party to name a few. Not to mention the Lions, Kiwanis, Eagles, & VFW who all reluctantly reformed their by-laws to include Minorities over the years) When the USS Missouri left, whatever heart Bremerton had was finished! Bremerton is a ZOMBIE! A brain sucking, DEAD & annoying Navy town! Once youve been bitten, you will allow its salt into your wounds! You will TRY to get away, only to need to comeback. Reestablished in BUTTOWN, you are slightly better off than you were when you left. But you have a worse experience, & need to leave again, for your life! True shit folks! Ask around...
