It doesnt take June 6th for you to remember? does it? Our school have forgotten to teach our children about the heritage of our nation. Win war, no. Lose wars, no. The heritage I am speaking of is: A band of scared young men (some even just boys) believing that their lives could save millions of others. They didnt give it freely for their own acclaim or worth. They laid it down so nations could be free of oppression and tyranny. Freedom is not not always like the first four letters of itself. Freedom is something that has always been under attack by people who have their own means to their own ends. Here a young boy that was overcome with the history of men and boys before him. The history of not only him being able to freely walk the shores of France but the freedom to express his ultimate gratitude to those that gave him this ability. If our children (and ourselves) dont learn history they (we) are destine to repeat it, paraphrased from George Santayana. You will watch this and think its scripted maybe it was, but the boys face wasnt smirking or had any cheeky grin. I saw honest of youth written in his eyes. We all grow tired and weary especially if you been around a while. . . Sometimes simple pieces like this makes one remember there is still a passion for something inside of us. Media (photography/Video) is a powerful medium that locks in truth in a moment. These moments are there not for the glory of those that compose it but for everyone else not to forget. Take a moment out of your busy life and watch the video. It doesnt take a perfect photo or a perfect video to make a powerful statement.
