It has always been one of my reflective instructional strategies to give my students an opportunity to evaluate me on my performance. You better make sure you have thick skin because sometimes their comments can be downright rude, but I strongly believe that you should be allowed to evaluate anyone who evaluates you. So... tonight I asked my students (ranging in age from 19-38) to fill-in the following sentences with words or phrases that best fit their thoughts about me: Ms. Alston please stop________. Ms. Alston please start________. Ms. Alston please continue______. Most of the feedback was good. However, there was one funny one that I just have to share. (Funny) Ms. Alston please STOP playing romantic music; I get sleepy. Ms. Alston please START wearing pants. Ms. Alston please CONTINUE standing in the front of the room during exams.
