It has been a busy last month full of eventing highs and lows! Sapey went well, I had a win on Zippy, and 3rd on Hoodunit (one of Emilys rides as she was at the Junior Europeans), 6th and 7th on Lottie and Dan. It was then a quick turn around to drive up to Bishop Burton to support Emily and the British Junior Team at their European Champs. Sadly Em and Brook had a horrid fall, spoiling both Team GBs and her individual success :( After a night in Hull hospital she was allowed out with, luckily, just heavy bruising - the horse box only just fitted into the hospital car park to collect her! Despite the rain, Lottie rose to the occasion by finishing 3rd in her first intermediate at Wellington HTs - very satisfying. She then had an easy intermediate novice run at Pontispool in preparation for Gatcombe intermediate this weekend, the final event of her season. Emily had an unlucky fall at Blenheim, but then bounced back with a 1st and 2nd in the OIu21 at Pontispool HTs on Charlie and Zara. Had a fun whistle-stop visit to the World Equestrian Games for sponsor Joules. Emily, Patsy Mason (Zippys owner), and I went for the final show jumping day to meet and have a lovely lunch with some Joules prize winners. It was strange watching rather than riding! My book launch at Burghley went very well, and it is selling fast - Im getting extremely good at my signature, thank goodness I have a short name!!
