It has been a long and stressful day. As many of yall know Laycee has been admitted to the hospital at Childrens for observation due to a high grade fever of 104 degrees of unknown origin. Lab work so far has been pretty normal besides her white blood count which is 18...up a little bit but nothing to crazy. Her chest xray was normal and showed no signs of pneumonia. Her lungs are clear. At one point today her respiratory rate got around 200 and very shallow which is very abnormal for a baby and dangerous. They have done a respiratory panel which will tell us if she has some type of respiratory virus which tests over 20 different things and we should have results back in the morning from that. Right now they are just keeping an eye on her temperature and keeping it down as well as monitoring her vital signs and respiratory stuff. We have been so cautious who we allow around her or who holds her and stuff that it is hard to think she could have some type of respiratory virus...and that is another reason we cant figure out what she has. She hasnt been around anyone that has been sick or has tested positive for the flu, RSV, etc and we have kept a close eye on her because of all the stuff going around right now. Her fever has came down now and her respiratory rate is around normal. I know our Laycee Bug is a fighter and she will overcome whatever is going on right now plus the fact that God is control I know everything will be ok . The doctors did say they dont think it is anything bacterial but viral. And they said it could also be the shots that she got the other day...even though it is abnormal for babies to run that high of temp due to shots. Im asking everyone to please say a prayer of healing for Laycee and we can get her home soon. Also want to thank the ACH ER staff...the doctors, the nurses, the PSTs, everyone that was involved with Laycees care in the ER...yall were amazing and got her right on back and started treating her and getting things done!!!!! Also to my EASI coworkers that texted or called and checked on Laycee and us thank you...as well as a big thank you to the crew that covered for me to be able to leave as soon as I did as well as management that made sure I got off the truck as quickly as I could...thank yall.
