It has been a very busy time for us all at pre-school. Our term started off with a visit from the dentist, which the children really enjoyed, to show what they had learnt they created a display, one of the children remembered that he has 20 teeth 10 at top and 10 at bottom. In our Science station the children looked at changes to materials. They took a solid piece of chocolate changed it to a liquid poured it into a penguin mould and watched it turn back to a solid. I bet they enjoyed eating it! The children had lots of opportunities and resources were provided linked to our focus colour, shape and number. The children showed great enthusiasm making lots of Christmas crafts and decorations. They decorated our first ever REAL Christmas tree they also brought decorations from home to decorate our Christmas tree in the entrance. A big Thank you to one of the children’s mummy for coming in and reading her favourite story ‘Emily’ in French. It was wonderful to see the children sit so lovely and listen and follow the story so well, they all had a go at speaking French. The children help create our winter scene and I’m sure you all agree looking at the photos that it looks Fabulous. The snowmen were a big hit with everyone. A lot of the parents were going to buy pillows and create their own. And yes we had to have Olaf snowman, can you see him? Thank you every one for supporting our Christmas coffee morning it was nice to see every one and a big thank you to our new children and parents who will be starting with us in January. The selfie Elfie was a big hit but I think the parents enjoyed having a photo more than the children. Our Christmas singing time was out of this world. I will be honest it wasnt looking good but the children performed brilliantly on the day. Thank you for a great response. A fun Christmas party ended our term on a high. REFLECTING BACK ON 2014. What a year we have had! Lots of changes happened and we had a new wonderful member join our staff. We said goodbye to a lovely group of children and their family’s but celebrated their time with us with a wonderful graduation day. We wished them well in their new schools. (We do miss them all), and we welcomed lots of new family’s to our home (Penguin school as the children like to call us). We passed our 2nd year of being part of the Bristol Standards and we finally got our Inadequate changed to GOOD, after having Ofsted visit us on our first day back from our 6 week summer break with all new children. Thank you to every one for your support during this difficult time, all your wonderful comments helped us through this. One of our dedicated staff members worked very hard to get their level 3 in Forestry school. We now have our own forestry time every week which in 2015 will get bigger and better. Thank you to everyone for your support on Facebook. Keep supporting us in 2015 and look out for the big things we will be doing. We also have our own Twitter page which will have items posted daily. Our web site will be created and up and running in the New Year. And we will be having a new member joining us, his name is Shaun and yes he is a Sheep.
