It has been a very hectic, very rough past few days. To start off, Monday we had therapy. Grey has made a ton of progress in just a week! Her PT was very happy with her building up her muscles again (thank goodness). We needed this great news as you see how the rest of Monday went... We went to her gastrointestinal doctor next. Basically, Grey is on the malnourished side because the infant formula she was on wasnt providing the right nutrients. We have now switched to a higher calorie, increased vitamins and minerals formula! We also are going to be getting a procedure done in December to get a scope down Greylynns throat to check the mechanics of her eating and look for any underlying issues. While at the GI, she seemed a little warmer than usual, so I gave her some Tylenol... Next was her well-check at her pediatrician. While in the waiting room, Greylynn got super hot, cheeks turned blood red, and she started coughing. Check her temp when we get in our room and its 102.5!!!! WHATTT?! I immediately go into mommy mode because high temps increase risk for seizures. The nurse checks dosing against her weight (she had lost a pound in a week for a total of 3.5 pounds in under 2 months), and I give her some more Tylenol. Strep and flu both came back negative. She has a bacterial upper respiratory infection. The first picture is from Monday night, and the next two are from today. As you can see, we have a very sick little girl. I updated on my personal page, but I never had a chance to update here with everything going on. We go for a follow-up tomorrow to check her labs and other things. Today, her toe that was infected with staph has gotten very red and swollen again, so please pray that is nothing! Another infection is the last thing she needs right now. If Greylynns weight has decreased any tomorrow, we have discussed putting in a temporary feeding tube to help build her body back up so she can fight these infections. I promise I will update tomorrow night after her appointment! Sorry for the super long update💜
