It has been a very hot day today at Olive Tree Farm....a couple of hours ago it was 40 deg C (104deg F).....we had to have a siesta, even the house was getting a little too warm, despite having all the windows and shutters closed since 11 am this morning. Sadly, we have lost all 9 baby rabbits over the past few days. We have been trying to keep them cool using cool packs near to the breeding box, but it was her first litter and we dont think she was feeding them properly.....if anyone has any tips that might help us next time, we would love to hear from you? Despite the heat however, Greg, Nick and Emma have all been working hard making bamboo barriers to fence in another large plot of land. They have planted lots of potatoes, cauliflower, and broccoli, and we have also sprouted both white haricot and black beans, which we will plant around the edges. We are planning for Autumn and winter now even though Summer is still in full swing :)
