It has been a very long and quiet 24 hours. I managed to cry my way through a roll and a half of toilet paper. I am so very grateful for each remark, text, phone call and good thoughts sent my way yesterday and into this morning. I have never experienced loss this deep before. Ella was a gentle soul who loved to bark, chase her tail, do full body rubs on the carpet, and out in the grass, share crackers and walks, sit on the patio, and shake her wonderful floppy ears. She was my steady and constant companion and the pain of loss is only equal to the depth of my love for her. Again, I am thankful for each of you who have shared in her life and in her death. You helped make yesterday seem not so dark.
