It has been a very stressful week for me. I have waited to post - TopicsExpress

It has been a very stressful week for me. I have waited to post this because I was holding out hope that things would change for the better, but they have not. Don and I are not sure what is happening here, but we are encountering a very similar thing that happened 4 years ago. You will be as saddened and devastated as we are. In 48 hours this week, we had three cats mysteriously disappear. There is no sign of them anywhere. The missing cats are ShooBop (she was the first to come up missing), Blushie within 24 hours of ShooBop missing, and Baby Jacey within 12 hours of Blushie. We thought Sunshine was gone, as well, as we could not locate her for 36 hours, but she came home a few hours ago. We have not heard any coyotes, seen any predators, but our neighbor did say that she saw two dogs running loose the other night. I believe it was the same two dogs I saw last week that another neighbor got the water hose after to run them off. I had never seen them before and have not seen them since. You would think if they were chasing the cats there would be a lot of barking, but we have not heard anything. Because we have a mean neighbor that hates cats and used to trap them, we suspected it was her, but its not. Her trap is not in position and has not been moved (it is upright and has debris in and around it). Four years ago a psychotic suspected wife killer (his wife was found dead, naked, face down, no mud or dirt on her feet, under limbs and leaves in the front of the subdivision and he has never been charged because of lack of evidence, but is the only suspect) trapped 12 of our cats, along with the other neighborhood cats and we now believe he killed them since none of them ever were found, especially the ones with microchips. Because of our experience with that, needless to say, we are nervous that there might be another crazy out there. I have asked my friend that cross-posts for Gwinnett Animal Control to keep watch for them, but so far, nothing. Many of you will ask why we cannot keep them in. We cant. It is not possible with the number of ferals that we have and we would not be able to tolerate living that way. We do bring in the majority of them in the evening and let them out when I get up in the morning. They come in and out all day. Before the cancer interrupt-us presented itself, we were able to get two-thirds of the enclosure up. With my surgery just in a couple of weeks, it will not be possible to complete the enclosure, as I need to focus on my health. We are at least trying to get the rest of the panels up. That will not keep the cats in until we can get the guard on the top, but it will keep dogs or other predators out. At this point all I can do is pray that my kitties are safe and ask you to pray for their safety and the return of the other three. I know how many of you love and adore Baby Jacey and trust me, this was one of the things I have never wanted to have to post. I miss all three of my girls and Don and I have spent countless hours searching the woods and neighborhood for our furbabies. Maybe, just maybe God will shine his light down on us and return our babies.
