It has been a year now serving as a First Sergeant and coming into the Job I had great mentors that walked, talked and showed me the ups and downs, the loops, the lesson learned of being a 1SG. Ive read majority of the books and most of the regulations to prepare myself for the position. The past 12 months Ive learned a lot and had to Sacrifice a lot of my Family time to take care of the Soldiers, their Family and Armys mission. For those who are actually reading this I dont want to bore you, my apologies. Duties of the First Sergeant in my experience; hes the Father, Mother, Executioner, Big Brother, Enforcer, The Most Combat Experience, A Professional, The Principal, Education Counselor, Mayor, and Most of All the HEART of the Unit. Im not perfect and I dont know anyone walking this earth that is and Ive learned from my mistakes and bounced back 10x. Im truly blessed and thank God every day for watching of me and blessing me with a Family who understands and is also making the same Sacrifices.I Love you Guys.....When I took this job and was put in the Senior 1SG position (HHB 1SG) I knew it was game on, especially being the youngest in both years in the Army and Age, but having that Samoan Blood flowing through my veins brought the best out me and I had to continue what our other Samoan Brothers started. Being that example for our Samoan Community. So with all this being said I received my NCOER (Report Card) and I was rated the 1 of 4(Best 1SG) which Im truly grateful for...so this is really a thank you post..Than you to my Family especially me best Friend and wife Maria, Dave Iuli, Jeff Robinson, Matthew Sampson, Kirklee Daubon, Acania Puletasi, Faleosina Puletasi, Michael Moana and to everyone who helped me along this journey........#samoanblood#onelove#familyalways#workhard#GodFirst........
