It has been an out-of-sorts kind of couple of weeks for me. After some self reflection, a conversation with an old confidant and mentor, and a teachable spirit to hear hard truths, I am hoping to see tomorrow as a new day! I am Myers Briggs classified 50% extrovert, 50% introvert. I am a survivor of a violent crime. When my energy is sapped; when I feel overwhelmed; when I feel trapped, etc. my lizard brain goes into protect mode and usually manifests itself in cloistering myself in a quiet, dimly lit room with a book. During these times I steer clear of crowds, and when forced into one, I am always strategically planning an escape route. I rarely share something so personal on Facebook, but I have seen some if my dear friends dealing with some of the same issues. You are not alone. I am a complicated, fractured, wounded work in progress. I remember General John Larsson saying to me at the 1985 International Youth Congress, In loves service only the wounded soldiers can serve. Tomorrow is a new day, wounded warrior. Agape.
