It has been my experience that those who offer oversimplified, cut and dried, prepackaged responses to human failing and tragedy have rarely walked a mile in the others shoes. People who are never at a loss for words in the face of stunning suffering, will eat those words with distaste when it is their turn to hang the gilded harps of happiness on weeping willows. Preachers who never find themselves incapable to rationally and theologically explain events, worship a God without mystery in a world without wonder. My faith is filled with question marks. But it is surrounded by exclamation points. The mysteries underline the revelations in Red Ink. Depression is not simple. It is also not final. Unless we get to them too late... Tonight we say goodbye to one we couldnt hold. Tomorrow, we run to the rest and tell them: I do not know all of the answers. But I do know The Answer. Would you like to meet Him?
