It has been officially confirmed by the LASUSU President that the 2013/2014 convocation ceremony has been billed for August 6th, 7th & 8th (though, its no longer a news). Due to the fact that, some prospective corpers (who graduated from LASU) would be posted to other geographical territories vis-a-vis the east, north & south respectively, aside that of the west, NYSC camps will be opened on the 5th of August, 2014 as stipulated by the authority in charge. In otherwords, the camps will be opened from the 5th, 6th & 7th of August but corpers would be barred from entering or going out from 3:00 pm on the 3rd day of the three weeks camping. Considering the fact that, some students are yet to obtain their results notification despite the rigorous clearance form (signing) exercise, students from other tertiary institutions which are ranging from foreign to Nigerian students, polytechnics to universities students, private to public schools respectively would also be partaking in these 3-weeks exercise & as graduating students of LASU are just one out of others. We hereby solicit for your relentless or insurmountable support to join todays peaceful protest to the VCs office as we press home our dissatisfaction or action to call for a reversal of the date. It will make life uncomfortable for prospective corpers as they would be denied first hand benefits such as beds & other camp paraphernalia. Moreover, the LASUSU President has called the VC times without number on this matter but he hasnt been picking up his calls. Thanks in anticipation as your share this message with others.
