It has been one rollercoaster week this week and we’re currently on the downward dip :( … Monday started with a homecheck for gorgeous Belle which passed with flying colours. Roly went to the vets for his first vaccination but couldn’t have it done as he had a touch of kennel cough. Tuesday we had 2 homechecks for Dolly – again passed with flying colours and a couple came to see Bonny also and loved her to bits – (well, who wouldn’t ;)) Wednesday was the vet run for Belle and Dolly’s 2nd vaccinations and Bonny went for her spey stitches out. Unfortunately Dolly came down with a secondary infection from her Kennel Cough so had to have more antibiotics and no injection until Monday. Bonny had a homecheck which again, passed with flying colours and Belles new owners came to collect her to start her 3 week temporary foster. Belle has gone to an absolutely fantastic home and has settled in like a dream :) Thursday Roly went to the vets again for a check-up and was prescribed different antibiotics as the others weren’t clearing his cough. Bonny went to her new home to start her temporary foster and is settling in well. There was a 3rd homecheck for Dolly which again passed. It was really difficult as all 3 homes would provide a good home for any dog. Unfortunately we had to let 2 families down which was such a shame and a very hard decision for us to make. :( We did however make 1 family very happy indeed :) Friday Ozzy was officially adopted and Roly had a successful homecheck. :) Today I went to chip Roly before he went to his new home on temporary foster and he wasn’t very happy at all. He was really down in the dumps and had stated to be sick. We took him to the vets, where his temperature was fine and it was thought that it was a reaction to his antibiotics. He was given some different ones, an injection to help with the sickness and some solution to help coat his stomach. At 6pm this evening I went through to his new home to drop off his medication and he had deteriorated rapidly. He had started with bloody diarrhoea and wasn’t well at all. Within the hour we had him at the emergency vets and he was lifeless. He has been admitted and popped on a drip and being pupped full of antibiotics as I type this. This is the same type of thing that Kip had so we are just hoping to God that he makes it. Please can everyone keep fingers crossed and send out prayers for this poor little mite. He has a new owner who is desperately worried about him. :( :( :(
