It has been said a million times in the last few months, but it seems absolutely preposterous that the SNP and Greens are being kept away from the live political debates. Although I think the television debates are completely unsuitable, serve no real purpose and should probably be stopped altogether, they have still become a part part of our country’s beige political system. Sure, they seldom address any real issues and usually descend into pure political posturing, but they still have to be representative of the country’s leading political parties! Perhaps we can find ways to make them better also. Perhaps we should wire them up to electrics so that they get a wee shock on their fingers every time they so much as bend the truth? Perhaps that would make them more beneficial to the voter? Or it could be more like WWF and Stone Cold Steve Austin could come out and dish out a few stunners when people are getting out of line? That actually wouldn’t make it any more farcical. I noticed Dave has been gassing out his fruity bum, saying he won’t be involved in any debates unless all the main political parties are there. Check you out, fighting The Man. Dave loves to fight The Man. As an aside, and again something that has been perpetuated for – well, a bloody long time – but how depressing is the state of British politics?! The general election… ugh. I’ll undoubtedly be voting Green, its just sad to think your vote can’t change anything. Still, no excuse not to take your vote! Anyway, all I really wanted to say was that the live TV debates should include all the main political parties. UKIP can just gtf, we’ll only have the top 5. That should be the cut-off. Fin.
