It has been so busy around the Akerman Road homelessness hostel of late. I went out to the shop just now; and as I came home a moment ago I thought â Nana and baby Chanel went 2 days ago, Abigail came with Eli and handed in her keys, Leah has moved to Streatham with her son Tyrell, Tatiana went about 3 weeks ago with her daughter, and so did Congolese Gypsy and her loveable daughter Genesis. I even miss the small Latino monster Chelsy. And maybe it is soon my time to move on. But for about four months in the summer, we had a lovely community in which I organised playgroups and art sessions, I took kids to the park, people befriended each other. Much of it was a co-incidence of who we were, mostly African; I like to think I contributed. 2014 will be etched in my heart; riches in the heart of poverty.
