It has been three months since the publication of Nicky Hager’s book Dirty Politics. While the political fallout from the issues raised in that book have been widely discussed, the issues raised for New Zealand’s media seem to have taken a back seat. Political blogger and commentator Giovanni Tiso says that the major issue is that there have been very few repercussions for the organisations and individuals implicated in Dirty Politics. Mr Tiso speaks to Ben Leonard about the continuing media fallout from Dirty Politics at 12.10. The original case was brought by aged care worker Kristine Bartlett with the support of the Service and Food Workers Union and alleged that the her pay should be able to be compared with those of others doing similar work. The Employment Court found in her favour and the Court of Appeals decision confirms this.
