It has been written that the only certainty in life is uncertainty. Lord Buddha taught that change is inevitable, that nothing can exist without change. And no matter what religion, philosophy or logic you apply to your life, science has proven this to be an absolute truth. There is a constant ebb and flow, of both favorable and undesirable change that washes over each of us, and the lives that we have created for ourselves. These changes start at the molecular level, every cell in our body is caught up in a constant vortex of a life and death cycle. This vortex elevates all the way up to the thoughts and emotions that we have every day and then transmits outward as the energy that we inject into the universe, which then has an enormous effect on our lives and the world around us. But there are far to many of us who fear change. We become so comfortable and content with the way things are, that this change brings us suffering and pain. We grasp so tightly onto the things that we hold dear that any deviation from what we perceive to be normal, causes our lives to go into a tail spin. Our egos convince us that life should play out exactly the way we want it to and that the only change that should occur, is the kind that is completely beneficial to us. I am sure that every one of us has asked ourselves, why did this happen to me?, when something bad happens to us. But I am sure a very small percentage of us ask them same question when a positive change occurs. We are divine cosmic souls inter twined on the great universal web of existence. We have control over our thoughts, feelings and emotions, but we can not control everything. At some point we must all learn to let go of our expectations and just openly accept what comes our way. We must learn to accept all change in our life with an open mind and a loving heart and to deal with any alteration to our existence with positivity and gratitude.
