It has come to our attention that a woman named Kiara has been emailing upcoming sponsors and competitors asking them to pull out of our events as the competition is rigged. The woman is a supporter of one of the ladies who competed in our Newcastle event on Friday night. These ladies have been harassing us since the event concluded on Friday night and are extremely aggravated about one of them not pulling a title and have had no shame openly stating their disgust at the fact a disabled woman took home the title. The comments I have seen from these woman and their friends directed towards the winner and her disability, and Miss Ink Australia, have been extremely degrading and just outright disgusting. They believe the event was rigged and that the judges gave the winner extra points out of sympathy. They fail to mention that the winner had the most tattoos out of all the competitors, had some of the best quality tattoo work at the event, and that despite her disability this woman went onto that stage with such pride and determination. After the scores are added up at each event, I always approach the judges and confirm that these are the two winners the judges are happy with. All four judges agreed. In all the years we have been doing these events we have never revealed scores. But in this case we feel we have no choice but to make them public due to the defamation and false accusations we have been receiving. So please find below the scores of our winner, and the scores of the competitor who believes she should have taken out the title. Winner: 91 - 77 - 84 - 90 = 85.5% Bitter competitor: 69 - 76 - 90 - 78 = 78.25% A score of 78.25% put this competitor in 4th place. We have never been prouder to have such a strong, kind, and determined woman represent our business. Here at Miss Ink we give everyone an equal chance. We look forward to having both of Friday nights winners represent Newcastle at the national final in December.
