It hits a real chord in the context of Anton Rodin and Sergey Chutkov’s “Letters from Tajikistan,” especially with one letter in which the individual writes, “Why wouldn’t anyone believe that in Tajikistan changes through peaceful means are possible, long but painless and bloodless?” AT: Anton and Sergey have received around 100 letters through an open invitation from individuals of various social, ethnic and religious backgrounds. In the exhibition they presented the letters and highlighted issues that were recurrent and that people are highly preoccupied with — corruption, the fear of eminent war, migration to Russia, the Soviet past amongst others. By doing so, they have created a semantic map of the public opinion.
