It is NOT my, nor any other spiritual leaders responsibility to convince you to follow Jesus. That mindset of feeling the need to convince people to follow their Jesus has created a huge deficiency in true Christianity. The Christianity thats been presented virtually everywhere, especially in Rome, is a comfort gospel. The real gospel costs you everything. It does not focus on what you can get from God. It demands that you give everything if thats the requirement of God. Theres nothing wrong with things. But seeking things is sin. Seeking things, prosperity, wealth without truly seeking God is sin. We are told by Jesus and Paul not to worry about anything. We are told to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first, THEN, everything will be added. We DONT seek things period. We can ask God for things but we dont seek things. We seek Him for souls, His Kingdom and His holiness. The comfort gospel blinds you and gives you a false sense of blessing when you cannot take the first thing on earth to heaven with you, except souls. Its really not a blessing to have material things. Its a blessing to follow the great commission and be a part of the harvest of souls, where we ALL minister to lost people. If I have to convince you to follow Jesus based on being comfortable, you will unfollow Jesus when youre uncomfortable. I will never preach a gospel of comfort. Jesus didnt, I wont!
