It is Veterans Day. The best father I know, my spouse, my heart, my strange husband- A Veteran and one hell of a human-being is my most direct acquaintanceship with what it is to serve. To serve others is to put your comfort and convenience last. To serve is to break yourself in the protection and betterment of the many. To serve is to tap into strength of being that allows you to focus your energies on a common goal, whatever that goal may be. To serve is to be part of a whole- your unit, your brothers and sisters, your family. In service, these things are one in the same. You go in one thing and come out something altogether different. When I think of Veteran, I think of strong, determined, persistent and focused people. Mere words cannot express my gratitude for all of your efforts. Past and present, now and always, thank you for your contributions, they are both appreciated and respected. Huzzah!
