It is a premeditated cul-de-sac that is mala fide (in bad faith), not bona fide (in good faith). Which means it’s dishonest. Here’s another term to know, “political machination” which means a political planning that is unlawful and wicked, designed to achieve a goal, such as all those slanders, creating dissension, pitting two sides against one another. These are called political machinations.
