It is a reflection on Obama’s competence that it took Snowden, - TopicsExpress

It is a reflection on Obama’s competence that it took Snowden, an employee of NSA and the ACLU to disclose government operations – This is a turning point, and it marks the beginning of a new effort to reclaim our rights from the NSA and restore the publics seat at the table of government, Snowden said in a statement released by the ACLU, which is helping with his legal representation. Having carefully considered the available options, I have decided that the best path forward is that the government should not collect or hold this data in bulk, Obama said in a statement. Instead, the data should remain at the telephone companies for the length of time it currently does today. Obama pledged to work with Congress on developing a workable plan that would accommodate counter-terrorism investigations while protecting constitutional liberties. Americans are the losers on both counts. Snowden’s actions are that of a traitor to U.S. national security interest. The effectiveness of counter-terrorism investigations have been compromise. Snowden is a common criminal who took advantage of Obama’s incompetence to monitor and manage what was going on with NSA. It is not NSA that should be changed. It is Obama’s responsibility to explain and defend the NSA operations to the American people. No one’s privacy rights were violated, but U.S. image was attacked unjustly and suffered.
