It is a shame when we as Christians have such a struggle in caring - TopicsExpress

It is a shame when we as Christians have such a struggle in caring for people who undergo trials that we have not personally experienced or cannot understand. On the one hand we encourage each other to bear one anothers burdens and yet when such burdens are shared, we often back away from a brother or sister who is their pentacle of need and vulnerability. It would be better for that person had they never opened their heart to us. Of course we cannot fully understand or solve the problems shared with us... but we can care, we can pray, and we can encourage--even if to seek solutions that may come elsewhere---but we should never abandon them in their time of pain, confusion, need, and vulnerability. James 5:14-16 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
