It is almost 8pm, 3 years ago and Katelyn Markham is gone. Her boyfriend has gone to her home sometime right after 7pm because he has not heard from her in almost 20 hours. No one else has seen her for 23 hours. Her car is behind her home. For some reason that told her BF that something horrible had happened to her even though he went there looking for her. The sight of her car caused him to imagine the worst even before he checked inside the house to see if she was there, back from work or home from work never having gone, or asleep with a headache with the phone off or dead. We dont know why he was looking for her and not her car. But the sight of the car was upsetting to him he says even though her work closed at 6pm, she got off at 7pm and he never called her work to see if she was there that day. He was right, less than 2 years from now her remains will be found in a pile of garbage in Indiana. In less than 1 hour he is able to learn that she is gone, nothing is gone with her except for her phone and she cannot be located. While that might seem like panic talking the days, weeks and months to follow will illustrate he was right about all of that also. We will discover that she never went to work that day so if he had called he would not have learned anything new, he just might have learned it earlier. But he knows it now and everyone is there with him learning it with him. The police are on their way, posters will be printed, the general public will be begged to help find this girl and we will all get to know her. But we will not meet her. We will look for her, we will pray for her, we will gather to remember her and we will gather to mourn her. And we will not forget.
