It is always unwise when people make the decision to sustain their unhealthy relationships at the expense of their healthy relationships. When people continue in unhealthy relationships for the sake of “keeping the peace” or a misguided desire to “not rock the boat,” the natural result is both a cheapening and endangering of true, vibrant and productive relationships. Many Christians today regularly break fellowship with mature Believers in order to maintain fellowship with gossiping and complaining individuals. The consequences of being left with only unhealthy relationships will always be frustration, confusion, and internal family strife. Rather, it would do us good to identify and nurture our healthy relationships at the expense of our unhealthy and draining relationships. - SP
