It is an unfortunately reality that our emotions limit our intellectual potential. It is not natural for a man to understand that which conflicts with their own identity. Ex: A man is told “your son is a bad student”, to the degree to which he identifies his son as a “good student” to that same degree is he unable to understand the statement made by his sons teacher. Therefore, to the degree to which someone is emotionally affiliated with the identity they assign themselves (or another), to that same degree is their intellectual ability handicapped by that affiliation. Ever wonder why when attacking peoples understanding or traditions they seem unreasonable? It is not because you are smarter than them… it is because their emotional affiliations to their identity literally blind them from being able to understand & perceive what is being said to them . This is mainly due to the manifestation of insecurity/doubt/fear/guilt that would be manifested should they be able to understand what you’re saying; therefore their emotions blind them to reason in order to avoid the emotional pain caused by the truth being told to them.
