It is at about two or three years into a marriage, when a spouse generally starts questioning what they are doing in their marriage, when all the ideas and possibilities had they not gotten married hit the fan. Did they marry the right person? How good what it had been eating from the greener grass? I didnt know of all my spouses habits and issues, as when we first met we put our best foot forward. Its here that we see that the very vows we spoke, the tears we shed, and the commitments we made, simply may have just been to ourselves, and for what we were excited about at that time... In marriage, as good and bad as it has been over the years, is that there will always be doors to pursue to lead a person out of a marriage, there will always be excuses and reasons to walk away and choose myself over the covenant we made. But of all the reasons to say its over, there need only be One, for why we stay, and are committed. The One Who actually does the miraculous work of making two become one, of bonding together, of blessing the union... If you are still living as if you are in the wrong relationship, got married too young, are staying together for the kids, and feel this walk is a ball and chain, then its time you changed your perspective. Show your spouse, your kids, the world, and God, that you are serious about your commitment to His covenant, because love never fails. All around you is a way out, but is that the voice He is speaking to us? Who God brings together, let no man separate. In Ephesians 5 we read so much about Gods picture for marriage, but it is actually the picture of marriage that represents Christ and his church, his bride. Ephesians 5:31“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
