It is autumn now but winter is just a few weeks away........... Many visits Korea for the ski experience in winter. Skiing is one of the many activities for winter. How about doing something new this winter? We strongly recommend a side trip to one of the ice fishing festivals in Korea. There are about 10 large Ice Fishing Festivals in Korea and the Pyeongchang Trout Festival is the first ice fishing festival that hits winter. This year, the Pyeongchang Trout Festival will start from 20 December 2014 and end on 8 February 2015. Though ice fishing is the main draw; there are many interesting activities such as sledding, skating and ice-bike riding experiences are available. If the cold gets to be too much, you can relax in the warmth of the large cafe on-site and refuel with some of the traditional local fare on offer. You can get your freshly caught on the spot too. Great news to busy travellers, it is possible to make a day trip to any of the festivals or events held in Gangwon-do province by hopping onto one of the shuttle services provided by the Gangwon-do province. The shuttle services offer bilingual travel guides and escorts on all shuttle buses.
