It is cold this morning. I dont think anyone would out right disagree with this. It was cold enough that I almost took the metro instead of taking my mile or so walk from Union Station to Chinatown. Im glad I didnt. Along the way I saw a man struggling with his wheel chair. He wasnt the cleanest, had no gloves, and was having trouble with the minor incline, and the sidewalk ahead was rocky as sidewalks go. I asked if he needed help, hoping he wouldnt ask me for money. He said yes, thank you, he needed to get to the Metro building to get his disability pass. I pushed him the two or so blocks and left him in the capable hands (and warm lobby) of the WMATA. Hell be able to get a ride home from there. There is little else that could make my morning the way this did. Not everyone loitering on the street is a false beggar, Im glad I still have the ability to open my eyes to that.
