It is common for a parent of a child who needs academic help to be burdened with the regret of having listened to others instead of their gut. Have you spent many nights watching your seemingly intelligent child struggle over homework and cry because they are stupid,while you are repeatedly told that your child is either lazy or dramatic and you are worrying over nothing? Listen to your gut. Your child likely needs help. Childrens rights are violated every day, and not just those poor kids in the bad schools. If you cannot afford expensive outside resources, you can still get help just by understanding your childs rights and how to ensure they are provided. Our system does not live up to what is required to make that happen, not until informed parents take steps to hold the decision makers accountable.
