It is common for those that disbelieve the Trinity (God is One God - TopicsExpress

It is common for those that disbelieve the Trinity (God is One God but reveals Himself as Three Person) to think of mankind and say, a person is only one person and not three. And then go on to reason that since man cannot be more than one person this means God cannot be more than one person in His Being. This logic is greatly flawed. They are looking at the lesser creature (man) in order to understand the greater Creator (God). Using such logic would also mean, that since man has a beginning point (our birth) then God must also have a beginning point. But that is not the case. God necessarily is an eternal Being without beginning. The Bible says He has always been and will always be. He is the Great I AM. Psalm 90:1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Many of them that argue God cannot be Three (yet One God) because that is the way it is with people, yet recognize that God is an everlasting God that has no beginning, even though that is not true of themselves. It is also true that since we cannot explain the mystery of Gods Triune nature that some immediately reject the idea as impossible. And yet, which man truly understands how it is possible for God to have always existed and to never have had a beginning? I dont understand how that is possible. It is an incredible thing, an amazing thing, to think that no matter how far back you go into eternity past, go deeper and deeper into the depths of that which has been and yet, no matter how far back one goes-----there is God. The ever existent One still on His throne. He is everlasting. He is eternal God. For those that say, explain to me the Trinity so it makes sense. I would say consider the enormous Being that we are discussing. God is not a man like you and I are men. He is not a lowly creature created to have a beginning. He is God. He is infinite in His Being: Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; God is not a man. He is the Almighty, everlasting God of the Bible. Therefore we dare not look to ourselves and say, well, since I am one person God must only be one person. What a foolish thing it is for a man, a tiny, little finite creature, no more than an insect, to compare himself to the One that is omnipresent and omnipotent. How arrogant and proud man must be to think that God must be the same as man himself is: Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. No I dont understand how it is that God declares that He is One God, and yet reveals Himself as Three distinct Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit); but I do know that if the Bible says it (and it does everywhere) then it must be true. I also know that God is a Being far greater and more glorious than I, a man am. And certainly far more complex. And so I accept my limitations, as a mere creature, when it comes to fully understand the God of the Bible. I can only say it is a mystery to me. Just as I cannot understand how God is from everlasting past. I cannot understand how it is possible that He has no beginning point. Because I am man (creature) made in time, made with a beginning. Therefore as part of my severe limitations as a man my mind cannot grasp the eternal truth that God has always been. I cannot even comprehend the idea of eternity itself.
