It is funny as I have not known him for a long time. Yet he has influenced me in so many ways the few times we have been together whether sharing our leadership and personal stories with others or talking about how to create a less corrupt world by our actions. I know that he is now living the ultimate adventure... the time where one may die in a few weeks, in this case of an previously unknown cancer, or whether one will continue to be in this life and world. Most everyone is praying for a miracle and that he will live a long and happy life. Yet I sometimes wonder if we are not a bit selfish and narrow in our wishes? I sometimes wonder whether we hope for things so that WE do not have to face the thought of death or that we will not feel a bit lonelier in the future when they are gone? Perhaps the miracle we should wish upon those we love who are in this state of their lives is the ability to embrace the miracle of death that seems to come from life and the miracle of life that has as its end death. Perhaps the miracle we should pray for is that he, Amit in this case and pictured above, has wisdom, courage, and curiosity as he goes through the ultimate experience of life. Perhaps the miracle we should wish for him, and all others (including ourselves when it is our turn) who are facing death at this moment is that they see the awe and majesty of what has been and what is to come. And as nuts as it may seem, perhaps we should wish them the miracle of being able to enjoy the moment so that no matter what happens, they will be joyful and forever looking forward for the next challenge to be faced. For me, once the big bang happened, forever more there was no such thing as nothing. For me, life will be life, spirit will always be spirit and the energy of our being constant as the northern star with only the circumstances we find ourselves in that will seem to make things different. So for my friend Amit... be in the moment and no matter what the universe has planned for you... bring it on! :-) Best wishes my friend... David and Ruth
