It is hard to adequately express my appreciation to you, my - TopicsExpress

It is hard to adequately express my appreciation to you, my supporter and friends. To all of you who helped us raise campaign funds, to the many who wrote letters, emails and postings on social media, and to the army of volunteers in counties all across our great state, I can never say thank you enough! The outpouring of support has astounded and humbled me. On Tuesday night around 11:00, I received a telephone call from Judge Levinson, who graciously conceded the race. Shortly thereafter, the media web sites and stations called the race; I don’t think I’ve ever been so relieved. My successful campaign to keep my seat on the Supreme Court of North Carolina is about much more than just me. You have soundly rejected the injection of large sums of “dark money” into our judicial races, particularly when they use it for outrageous and misleading attack ads, and the attempt to insult your intelligence and influence our judicial elections. I am looking forward to serving for eight more years and, joined by Justices Beasley and Ervin, to continue working to solve our state’s difficult legal problems. Judges should be fair and impartial, and decide cases based on the facts and the law, not following a political or personal agenda. This is what I have done for 14 years on the bench, and pledge to keep doing as a Justice on your Supreme Court. Thank you so much for your sustained efforts this year and for your continued confidence in me. Please save the date of 6 January 2015, for my new swearing-in and festivities. Details will follow, and I hope to see many of you then. In the meantime, please enjoy the holiday season, and accept these many thanks from me! All the best, Robin
