It is heartening that a good soldier gets the tribute he deserves. - TopicsExpress

It is heartening that a good soldier gets the tribute he deserves. Not only did he potentially save the day, and the Union itself, at Gettysburg, he also pioneered the radical concept of having cavalry dismount and act as light infantry. Compare that to his flashy counterpart Confederate J.E.B. Stuart, who was nowhere to be seen the first few days of Gettysburg with his dash around the Union forces. At least the solid gets credit over the flashy on this occasion. Thanks General Buford.
