It is important that we debunk the myth often used by vegetarians - TopicsExpress

It is important that we debunk the myth often used by vegetarians that meat eating hurts the eco system but plant/grain eating does not... It turns out that just the opposite is the case. Everyone agrees that factory production of meat and feeding them grains is both cruel and unnatural. Cows eat grass, not grain. Grains make them sick and the meat loses many of its healthful properties ( the fat ratio between omega3 and omega 6 fat changes for the worse). The solution is not to stop meat eating and eat the grain ourselves but to simply stop feeding grains to the animals and put them back on pasture. The very worst thing for the eco system is growing rows and rows of grains and vegetables. It degrades the soil and utterly destroys the ecosystem. You have to hit the fields harder and harder with fertilizers to keep the thing running. The most natural and lightest hit on the eco system is to grow grass and put animals on the fields to graze and add their dung as fertilizer. That is what creates abundance. Mono cropping grains and vegetables leads directly to desertification, the fields will eventually become barren... Here is a TED Talk by Allen Savoy that hopefully will convince you: https://youtube/watch?v=vpTHi7O66pI
