It is inspiring how seven years ago, the Sumilao farmers were landless and worked as laborers with menial pay, and now, they are tilling and harvesting from their own land. Parents were already able to send kids to school. Others now have motorcycles and even four-wheel vehicles. And most of them are already very empowered to take ownership of their land and steer their future for the better. On Oct. 10, Panaw Sumilao MPC, the unified cooperative of the Sumilao farmers, will be celebrating its 7th anniversary. Congrats!
